What Does Beeswax Do For Your Lips?
Why all this fuss about lips? Fuss Fuss Lips Lips!!! Well, actually lips need extra care as they do not have the usual protection in the form of oils and sweat that keep the skin regulated, moisturised, and free of pathogens. They are prone to cold sores, they get chapped, and the skin on them gets very dry and irritated. In short, they need lots of looking after. No better ingredient to do this than beeswax which offers that much-needed protection and helps retain the moisture. At Heartworks, we have come up with an ideal formula for a lip balm with a high percentage of beeswax along with moisturising coconut oil and shea butter - the perfect combination to keep your lips in good order.
Why coconut oil and shea butter are great for the lips
Where would we be without our coconut oil to put on our skin? Well, it's the same for the lips. Coconut oil leaves your lips moisturised and soft, it's anti-inflammatory, and it is excellent for chapped lips. And shea butter? It is well known that shea butter is an excellent emollient and it hydrates the lips. So it leaves your lips nice and soft. Now, who doesn't want to have soft lips?
The healing properties of beeswax
And then just add beeswax and you have protection from the elements for those lips that are almost always exposed and have very thin skin on them. Protection from what? From the sun's harmful rays, the cold cold wind, and from pollution. Also, beeswax has antibacterial properties in it along with anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties. It contains high amounts of vitamin a which helps to regenerate the skin on the lips.
So why choose a Heartworks lip balm? I know that there are great brands out there such as Burt's Beeswax Lip Balms but I argue that ours is also an excellent lip balm. Our customers tell us so and come back for more all the time. What's more, they tell us that the little tin of our lip balm went on and on application after application. So it's good value too. The three ingredients; beeswax, coconut oil, and shea butter, come together to give those lips exactly what they need. With six variations to choose from, the difference being in the essential oils used, there are plenty of choices.
