The Benefits of a Massage to the Face

The Benefits of a Massage to the Face

Face Massage

There's nothing like a good massage to the face and this you can do yourself or you can have some willing friend do it for you.  It's really quite easy.

The benefits are numerous:-

For one thing, a good massage helps you feel relaxed and rejuvenated but also your skin becomes relaxed and rejuvenated.
  • It helps to tighten the skin and relax facial muscles giving one a more youthful look.
  • The massage brings about a good blood flow to the skin and this , in turn, helps to heal and generate new cells.
  • It might even help to reduce wrinkles and scars because of the extra blood vessles getting to the facial skin.
  • It can stimulate the collagen and elastin production in the Dermis part of your skin.
  • It can help elimate toxins

    How to massage the face

    • Firstly use some face cream, a slightly oily one so that it doesn't penetrate immediately leaving the skin feeling devoid of a lubricant.
    • Now start by massaging the forehead.  With your three middle fingers start from the centre of your forehead and work outwards finishing at the temple.  Repeat this 10 times.
    • After that, on both sides, massage the temples in a circular movement with the finger tips.  Do this for 30 seconds.
    • Then pinch the nose from the top right down to the end  with your thumb and index finger and inhaling finish by pressing the point in the middle above your upper lip with your index finger.
    • This might sound weird but your next step should be to open your mouth and eyes as wide as you can and close.  Do this 3 or 4 times, opening wide and closing tightly
    • Work your fingers along the cheek bones from the centre outwards finishing around the temple area 10 times.
    • Pinch your cheekes from the centre out finishing around your ears
    • With both index fingers work around the ears from the jaw bone right around the ears back to the jaw bone 3/4 times
    • Open that mouth again, and those eyes as wide as you can again and do this 3/4 times
    • Next pinch your jaw bone with thumb and index finger starting at the chin and moving up towards the ear.  Do this 3 times.
