STRESS AND YOUR SKIN
STRESS AND YOUR SKIN
Stress can reek havoc with your skin in many ways.
One is an increase in cortisol levels which affects your immune system and triggers inflammation in the body and your skin. Flare ups of ezcema or psoriasis can occur,
Another is an increase in androgens, a male sex hormone, which controls the sebum production in the body. But the increase of this hormone can lead to an over-production of sebum, which, in turn, can cause blackheads, white heads and bacteria forming on the skin.
Yet another reaction to stress in the body is lack of sleep causing puffiness around the eyes and dark circles.
Stress, too, can cause an imbalance in your gut and the good bacteria which manifests itself on the skin.
Continuous stress drives deep furrows to the brow too.
MANAGING STRESS
Give importance to yourself. Take deep breaths, do yoga, go for long walks, don't worry about spots on your face, give more importance to why you are stressed and do something about it. Take up "Mindfulness".
Just love yourself and accept yourself. I know that's easier said than done. But work towards it.
Take all those things that are responsable for your stress (like your job, or a so called friend, or facebook and lots more) out of your life. Give them less attention and focus on yourself. BREATHE, BREATHE, BREATHE
