Oils For Under Eye Use
The skin under your eyes is very sensitive and delicate and therefore needs careful attention. The oils we use under own eyes really matter. And it depends on why we're using the oils there in the first place. What I mean is that if you are applying oil under the eyes for moisturising, that is different for if you are using using oils under the eyes to get rid of "bags" under the eyes or if its for removing make up.
Moisturising Oils For Under The Eyes
- A good moisturising oil for under the eyes would be sweet almond oil. Rich in Vitamin E, and other vitamins it can really moisturise gently the under eye and reduce fine lines
- Olive Oil is a good one too. But it has to be a good quality one. Just dab a little very gently under the eyes. It is very nourishing too.
- Other oils for moisturising are rose hip oil, apricot kernel oil, evening primrose oil, avocado oil and jojoba oil
Oils For Reducing Puffiness Under The Eye
- Again sweet almond oil is good here. It is rich in vitamin E and retinol which encourage the production of collagen and elastin and therefore helps to reduce sagging and wrinkles.
- Castor oil is wonderful oil with its anti-inflammatory properties to reduce puffiness. It is also reputed to eliminate dark circles under the eyes but I believe that is not proven.
Oils For Taking Off Makeup
I do have a facial oil cleanser with organic sunflower oil, organic golden jojoba oil and organic castor oil. These three seem to compliment each other and each brings something unique to its purpose. The castor oil is so thick it is a powerful cleanser of all kinds of grime and dirt. The sunflower with its richness in linoleic oil regenerates the skin and the jojoba oil oil keeps the sebum production in check to make sure that the skin remains moisturised but also not to oily. All these can be used around the eyes.
