Foods that are bad for your skin

Foods that are bad for your skin

Before you even begin to put some face cream on or some body lotion there are far more important things to think about when it comes to your skin

Night Face Cream

There's an endless list of foods that are bad for your skin and it would get you down reading about them.  I, myself, believe that you should try to eat healthy but you shouldn't freak out if you have gone for that bag of chips on the way home from the pub after a feed of pints!!!  You did it, it's done, there's nothing you can do to bring back the clock, don't go all guilty, simply move on!!

But knowledge is key.  It's good to know, and I think we all have some idea about what foods are simply not great for you skin.

Sugar, alcohol, coffee, trans fats, processed food are definitely all bad for your skin and some say that dairy is too.  Refined sugar, because it causes inflammation in the skin.  Alcohol because it causes dehydration in the skin.  Coffee because it can trigger higher cortisol levels, which, in turn, can lead to over production of sebum and hence acne.  Trans fats and processed foods because they give little or no nutrition to the body and also can cause inflamation in the skin.  Dairy, because it can cause allergies in certain people and those allergies might appear in some form or other on the skin.  Any foods that cause allergies can affect the skin.  If you suspect a food allergy you could try giving it up for a while and see how your condition improves.

Topical creams are great and all that but what's most important is what goes into the body via the mouth.  In other words, your food!.
