Extolling the Virtues of Beeswax in Skincare
THE VIRTUES OF BEESWAX IN SKINCARE
Beeswax has many benefits for your skin and is used widely in natural skincare. Some skincare creators use it as a natural thickener and/or emulsifier. Others use it as a natural protector for the skin in balms and creams.
Some people might have allergic reaction to it, others find it helps with their skin conditions, such as eczema.
It is great for chapped lips in that it offers a barrier to further exposure to wind, rain and sun. We have a lip balm that has a high percentage of beeswax in it but also has coconut oil and shea butter to moisturise
It is also a humectant (attracting moisture from deep down in the lower skin layers). That, and the fact that it offers a protective barrier from the elements will keep the skin nice and hydrated. We have a body butter that does all that. Again it has a high percentage of beeswax. But it also contains skin loving oils such as sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, coconut butter, cocoa butter and shea butter along with our own homemade calendula oil (great for healing)
Beeswax is anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial as well. So it can help with skin conditions, such as eczema, psoriasis and rosacea and fight all kinds of skin infections.
