Essential Fatty Acids and Water for the Skin
Essential Fatty Acids and Water
It's for some reason essential fatty acids are called what they are called. They are, indeed, essential and they are not produced by the body so you have to ingest them via food. Essential fatty acids; omega 3 and omega 6 are essential for maintenance and repair of the cells in the body and they are responsible for keeping the cells hydrated. With regard to the skin, this means plumper, hydrated and younger looking skin.
So once you're happy with your intake of these fatty acids then drinking that litre and a half to 2 litres of water a day (so much?) makes more sense. It will actually get to the cells. But without essential fatty acids most of the water will just "go down the swanee" Water increases the blood flow to the skin and brings nutrients to it.
So, in short, water and essential fatty acids are both essential, necessary and beneficial for the skin.
