Why are antioxidants so important for the skin?  Well the answer is they help fight against the free radicals and oxidation that occur in the skin.  Fighting against these two offenders will counter or delay the ageing process.  So, in short, it is really important to include antioxidant rich foods in your diet as well as have antioxidant rich product to use on the skin

So what foods are rich in antioxidants?  The first one that comes to mind is blueberries and hot on its heal is goji berries.  I would say that all berries, including cranberries, are loaded with antioxidants.  In general, fruit and vegetables are full of antioxidants, some more than others, ie leafy green vegetables.   Tomatoes, turmeric, ginger, kidney beans, dark chocolate and pecans are are very often called antioxidant food heroes.

Here in this picture you have a salad from our garden, the flowers are day lilies, calendula and chive flowers, all packed with antioxidants.  We have added lots of baby leaves and lettuce.  In there too are various microgreens and they too have a load of antioxidants.
