What Makes Our Skincare Great for Eczema?
There are a number of reasons why our skincare is great for eczema and other skin conditions. In this Blog we'll simply talk about eczema.
What is Eczema?
Eczema is a condition where dry and itchy patches form on the skin. It weakens the skin's barrier and therefore causes more dryness which in turn causes more irritation. The important thing here is to keep the skin moisturised and protected
What Oils Help With Eczema?
Well there are a number of oils that help clear up eczema or, at least, reduce the symptoms of eczema. Underneath is a list of those oils and butters
- Cocoa butter. This butter helps to keep in the moisture by adding a protective layer, therefore keeping the skin moisturised which is good news for eczema sufferers
- Coconut oil. This oil is full of lauric acid and can soothe irritated skin and reduce itchiness
- Shea butter. Shea butter can increase water retention in the skin and so is very moisturising
- Sweet Almond Oil. This oil, like the others afore mentioned, is a wonderful moisturiser and keeps the skin soft and supple
How To Make Your Own Oil Concoction For Eczema?
Other oils include apricot kernel, kukui nut oil, rosehip oil, evening primrose oil, avocado oil and golden jojoba oil. These oils tend to be more expensive but if you can afford them and want to make your own concoction my advice is to put in the top four ingredients to make up 80% and then 5% of any 4 of the other oils mentioned.
How To Keep On Top Of Your Eczema Problem
Well, the first thing you do is go make up the concoction that I have given above and then mix them together. The shea butter, coconut oil and cocoa butter will need to be melted gently in order to liquify them to add to the other oils. Mix everything together and add to a glass jar or a tin. Rub on periodically throughout the day keeping those affected areas moisturised
We have lots of natural skincare such as body butters, handcreams, face creams and much more with a mixture of all or some of these ingredients if you care to have look. Otherwise, as I said before, make your own!!
