Antioxidants For Your Skin
Our skin is under constant attack from free radicals on a daily basis and to help fight them off we need antioxidants. These free radicals are caused by major stressors such as air pollution, uv rays, smoking and many other factors. They come with fewer electrons and scavenge to find their missing electron to make them more stable. In a nutshell they cause havoc with our bodies and our skin. They cause oxidation which in turn damages our DNA and our cells. So it's really important to constantly be eating foods rich in antioxidants to help combat this damage.
- It's not just food that we need to look to but other factors also can influence how well these free radicals are thriving on us. For example,
- Avoid stress. (Easier said than done.)
- Get lots of exercise. It definitely helps to stave away those free radicals as it reduces stress and keeps the body and mind healthy
- No smoking. Smoking contributes heavily to free radical activity in the body
- Keep drink to a minimum. Alcohol creates sugar which in turn creates more free radicals. It is also a stressor and stressors cause free radicals to invade.
- Use protection against the sun's harmful rays.
- Moisturise your skin with a good quality face cream daily
