• It comes from the Mediterranean where it grows best. 
• But you will find it in Ireland and Britain.  The Romans introduced it to Britain.
• It grows best at altitudes of between 70 and 1,400 metres
• It can relieve headaches by applying it neat to the temples and gently massaging it in.
• It is widely used in the treatment of acne and many other skin conditions.  In fact, it has a very balancing and normalising effect on the skin.  It can deal with the bacteria responsible for the infection and soothe the skin
• Great for people suffering from depression, hysteria or mood swings.  Again, it brings about balance and harmony.  
• It can speed up the healing of burns and wounds as well as clean them out (antiseptic)
• You can use it in a bath, in a steam inhalation, or dilute and simply rub into effected areas, such as the chest (for chest infection) or neck (for sore throats)
• It has proven to help in child birth, both as an analgesic and speeding up labour.  Just by rubbing into the lower back or the abdomen
• Got bitten by an insect.  Rub it on immediately for instant relief.
• Can also be used for fleas in your pet to keep them away
• Use dried lavender pouches in you clothes drawers to dissuade moths.  They don't like it.
• It can be used to the great effect on children with colic (must be diluted at 1%)
• It's a powerful tool for cleaning your bathroom and leaving a lovely smell.  (I use lavender to clean the toilet bowl)

And that is why I use lavender in most of my natural skincare.  I personally adore lavender, I think it's the safest, most effective and most powerful remedy for any skin ailment.  It's kind and generous to you skin.  It can be put on neat in many cases although it is best to dilute it.  And it smells divine!!!
