Lavender or Chamomile Essential Oil For Sun Burn
The best medicine for sun burn is avoiding taking too much sun or using a high factor sun cream but If you get too much sun and your skin gets really red and burnt then Lavender or Chamomile essential oils are the best way of treating it.. Chamomile is great for soothing and cooling burnt areas of the body and if it's a large area of redness and burn then taking a lukewarm bath with 5 or 6 drops of chamomile is a good idea. You can repeat this bath every hour until the heat and redness calm down.
If the burn is severe you are best going with lavender. Make a solution with 12 drops of lavender to every tablespoon and apply by dabbing at intervals of about an hour until relief is found. You can even apply lavender to blistered areas neat.
If your skin is experiencing sun damage, ie leathery skin due to too much sun taken, then mix 12 drops of lavender oil and chamomile oil to a tablespoon of some carrier oil, like sweet almond oil or jojoba oil and massage two or three times daily
